WHY ARE ARIZONA HOME INSPECTIONS SO EXPENSIVE?
Whether you're an Arizona Home Inspector or an AZ homeowner/buyer who plans to have a home inspection in the future, you should be OUTRAGED at the INCOMPETENCY taking place at an Arizona government agency called the Board of Technical Registration (BTR). The AZ BTR is the agency which licenses and regulates Home Inspectors in Arizona.
Certain professionals, such as home inspectors, need to be regulated in order to protect consumers. However, INEFFICIENT and INCOMPETENT government regulatory agencies do not protect the public's interest. In fact, INEFFICIENT and INCOMPETENT government regulatory agencies do just the opposite because they increase the cost of doing business. And business owners will almost always pass this cost on to the consumer. Consequently, the very consumers these agencies pretend to protect are the ones who are most hurt by government incompetence and/or corruption.
Arizona real estate prices are already inflated, and the AZ real estate market is already slower than normal. So obviously, higher costs for real estate related services, such as home inspections, will only worsen the situation for both AZ homebuyers and AZ real estate professionals alike.
TAKE ACTION NOW to keep AZ home inspection prices down!

Most of us have known for some time that the AZ BTR is totally worthless. The Arizona home inspection industry has been laughing at the BTR's incompetence for years. But now they seem to have gone way too far in targeting home inspectors as a source of income. It's time for our entire industry to get involved and say enough is enough. By the way, why isn't AZ ASHI doing anything to help?

Finally someone who has the guts to stand up to the BTR. Our industry organizations are supposed to be advocating on our behalf but it's not happening. ASHI, NACHI, AHIT, NAHI: they're all happy to take our money but not one of them has confronted the BTR about the unfair treatment Arizona home inspectors have been putting up with from the licensing board since 2003. Probably because many of these organizational leaders are in bed with the BTR. It's about time someone decided to stand up for our industry. I'll definitely donate to this cause.

My friend Joe sent me an IM message with a link to this site. He was right, AZ home inspectors are definitely getting shafted. it's about time someone stick up for us since our industry organizations aren't doing it. Keep up the good work and maybe someday home inspectors will actually be treated fairly in Arizona. I'll be sure to pass this link on to all the az home inspectors I know.
